The American Bull Dane is an intentional cross, not a kennel-club breed with a single written standard. Two dogs from the same pairing can differ in size, coat, and temperament, because each puppy inherits a different mix of traits from the contributing breeds.

An American Bull Dane crosses the American Bulldog with the Great Dane. The result is a very large, short-coated dog: taller than a Bulldog, often more substantial than a lean Dane. Ears are natural; the head is broad.
Giant size means giant care — joint-friendly exercise while young, room to turn around indoors, and a budget for food. Temperament can range from the Dane's softer side to the Bulldog's harder working style. They are too strong to skip basic leash work.
